Another Great Weekend @ The Backpackers

The party scene in Reykjavik is somewhat infamous and many a good night have started from the Backpackers. Last weekend was no exception! A big shout out to the boys from New Zealand who had themselfs more than one rather messy night!!

Where the cool people are...

At Reykjavik Backpackers there is a certain aura about the place. The bar has this "lets just stay here" feel. The music that is played often has complements and has people asking the staff "who is this playing."

 During the winter evenings, as the darkness sets in and the outside temperature drops, the candles come out, the lights go down and the bar becomes an even more comfy, inviting and pleasant place to be.

While you are enjoying the snug sofas and chairs, or our cool, comfy bus seat set up you can always order something from the menues. A wonderful selection of tea and coffee is available. Toasted sadwiches and  chiabattas can be made to order. Also there are Icelandic Kleina, cookies and chocolate cakes available.

Due to Reykjavik backpackers been a hostel there are people from all around the world relaxing and enjoying their time there. Also with there been free WIFI you can come study check your Facebook or just watch a movie.

LIVE MUSIC @ BACKPACKERS

The music scene in Reykjavik has, over the past few years exploded and become more and more well known through out the world. 

you never have to walk very far to find a bar that has live music of some type and one of them is Reykjavik Backpackers. During Airwaves there were bands from all over Europe, USA, Canada and ofcourse, Iceland playing here. Over the 4 days we had around 8 -10 bands playing here each day. The place was so packed that we had to start brining people in through our beer garden! LOTS of fun.

This Friday 23rd we are again having an evening of live music.

We will be starting the night of with the wonderfully old school blues musician Hans Blues and Boogie. Last time he was in Iceland was 1987 so be sure not miss him. Following him and ending our evening with a great set of classic hits is the great Roland Hartwell, lead singer of Cynic guru and Violinist in Icelands orchestra. Be sure not to miss either of these musicians.

The Reykjavik Backpackers is such alot of fun and becoming more and more popular each week. It is a laid back and fun place to be with teams laughing together and also havinf time to get another drink in between each round. There is always a round of applause for the winning team aaas they collect their prizes too.. 5 ROUNDS AND 5 DIFFERENT TOPICS!!
