Glaciers, Volcanoes & Waterfalls - Sightseeing & an easy glacier walk

This is a new tour run by our sister company, Arctic Adventures. A brilliant day filled with wonder and and breath taking sights. You can ask any member of the Reykjavik backpackers staff to tell you all about it and/or book the tour.

Travel through the south Iceland farming lands and to the black sand beaches, thundering waterfalls, powerful volcanoes and majestic glaciers on its south coast.

Walk behind the magnificent wall of water of Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Take a easy hike on the ancient ice of Sólheimajökull glacier with a knowledgeable and certified glacier guide. Then take a leisurely stroll along the black sand beach of Reynisfjara with its famous basalt columns and caves. See the Reynisdrangar cliffs, basalt rock stacks that rise from the sea, Icelandic legends say they are mischievous trolls turned into rock by the rising sun. We round of this great sightseeing tour with a stop at the Skógafoss waterfall. There you can walk up to the 60 meter high, thundering waterfall and even walk up its sides to gain a birds eye view of the cascading water and rainbows.

All of this as we pass through the fertile farming lands and small villages of south Iceland, where the land is rich in Viking history and heritage, watched over by the infamous Eyjafjallajökull and Hekla volcanoes. On clear days you will have an excellent view of these famous volcanoes and when we drive under the foothills of Eyjafjallajökull you can glimpse the Westman Islands, rising steeply from the ocean just a few kilometers of the coast.

This is a great value, easy, sightseeing tour with an adventurous twist. The sights are breathtaking, the grandeur unforgettable..where else in the world can you stand on 700 years old glacier ice, walk behind a 60 meter high waterfall and stroll along a volcanic black sand beach in one day, and that is only half the story!

Tour highlights:
 - Seljandsfoss Waterfall, walk behind the water.
 - Sólheimajökull glacier, easy glacier walking.
 - Reynisfjara, basalt colums & black sand beaches
 - Skógafoss Waterfall.
 - Eyjafjallajökull Glacier / Volcano view.*
 - Hekla Volcano / Volcano view.*
